I designed and built a regency era empire dress as a project. From thinking about the fabric texture to sleeve embellishments I tried to capture the timeless look of the regency. For comfort, durability, and ease when changing I used elastic in the bodice, neckline, and sleeves. It was my own take on a historical pattern. I created a full look completed with jewelry, tiara, and gloves for a photoshoot. The elegant curves and shiny materials made her feel like a princess.
