As the Head of the Costume Shop for Traveling Players Ensemble I was both a designer and teacher. I taught high school students sewing fundamentals and guided them through creating costumes. We fitted, altered, and created garments for a large Shakespeare play, Cymbeline, that had around 45 characters. Builds for this show included two brocade doublets, a Roman toga, and a set of 15 armor pieces. I I also taught the students how to make pin cushions and aprons.
