Floral Headdress

For this project I crafted a floral headdress where each side represents a different season. I was inspired by the Greek goddess Persephone, who is the goddess of spring but also the Queen of the Underworld. Her different sides and story, tied to the creation of the seasons, captured sparked my idea. I started off by having a circular metal base covered with foam for stability and comfort. I hand stitched flowers out of various fabric and made crystals out of resin which I sewed onto the foam. I chose specific colors for each season, spring being pastel, summer being pink and purple, fall being red and orange, and winter being dark shades and black. I decorated the head dress with fake berries and paper leaves. All of which I painted over to give them a natural feel as well as a shine that made them look magical. A full video timelapse of me working on the project is below as well as a presentation documenting all my steps.
